Florida Keys

My family has visited many parts of Florida over the years, but a visit to the Florida Keys and Key West proved to be a unique place to itself.

Sunsets are one of my favorite times of the day and they seemed to be even more special in the Keys.  Everyone searches for a good place to wait for the sunset at the beach, on a pier, from a restaurant or bar, or on a balcony.  We were lucky to find a beautiful sunset every night.

The animals in the Florida Keys are rather unique.  No alligators here!  Instead we saw lots of iguanas, pelicans, and surprisingly  chickens all over Key West.

Every restaurant in Key West had its own version of Key Lime pie.  Some were even frozen and dipped in chocolate.  Our favorite was at The Fish House in Key Largo.

From our balcony at the Pier House in Key West we saw all types of boats and water sports taking place.

Riding on the Conch Tour Train or the Old Town Trolley was a great way to learn about and see the interesting town of Key West.

We could hop off at one of the many interesting shops,

or one of its unique and famous restaurants or bars

until we were at the end of the road and at the southernmost point of the United States.
